Like the picture? We did too! M.A.T.A.G. is back with another remix for your ears and for the dance floor, this time re-working the hottest R&B club banger out right now, Ciara’s “Ride”. event: Red Bull Emsee @ N-Club Greensboro

The latest round of Red Bull’s nationwide Emsee freestyle battle series will be held in our very own back yard in Greensboro on Thursday August 5th. Featuring DJ Forge on the wheels and a very special performance by EPMD, this one is not to be missed. This won’t be your typical freestyle battle, the ante has been upped and participants will be put on the spot throughout. Check the official description from Red Bull for the details:
Red Bull EmSee: The Road to 8 Mile is a freestyle rap battle of sight and sound, driven and spearheaded by the freestyle master himself, Eminem. The national series will make its stop in Greensboro, North Carolina on Thursday, August 5 where North Carolina’s top lyricists will compete head-to-head for the title of best emcee. This invitation-only competition has a unique format that challenges the rapper to bring their game face to the chopping block and take it back to basics.
Emcees will not only battle against each other but also the clock and their mind’s eye when they are tested to create the sickest flows they can with on-the-spot based spontaneous cues. In this elimination style competition, the emcees will be judged based on three rounds, each with different challenges. In the first round, emcees will be tested on their versatility and speed as they’re given five images at random to base their freestyles on. The winners from that round will have to keep on their toes for round two as they’ll rap about themes that are texted in by the judges and the live audience to a screen. And the two who prove themselves above the rest and make it to the final round, will go head-to-head in a tradition freestyle battle.
“I’m looking for somebody to stand out, to be unique and to say the sickest, most ridiculous, most retarded s#%! you can say, something that makes somebody want to quit,” explained Eminem. To hear what else he has to say about the contest check out:Red Bull Emsee: The Road to 8 Mile.

event: MMA 2010 #3 in Asheville

This is the third installment of our Mix Master Arts DJ Battle series, being held at Scandals Nightclub in Asheville, NC. The winner and runner up will be invited to compete in the Grand Championship at the end of the year at Greene Street Club in Greensboro. There will be one more battle after the Asheville event taking place during Signal Fest in Chapel Hill in September. In all there will be there will be 4 more competitors joining the ranks of our past champions and runners-up to determine our Grand Champion. SPCLGST (Greensboro Champ), A-Minor (Greensboro Runner up), Lord Walrus (Charlotte Champ), DJ Complete (Charlotte Runner up). Who will be next?

event: DJ Paradime + DJ Forge at Mirage

This upcoming weekend come party at one of Raleigh’s most premier and upscale venues with music provided by DJ Forge on Thursday July 22nd, and DJ Paradime on Sunday July 25th. Mirage is one of the latest additions to the Raleigh nightlife scene and has quickly earned a reputation for throwing “must attend” parties. In addition to the hottest music on the charts we’ll be spinning music videos which will displayed in VIP as well as on the main floor on a huge screen.
